Five days of poetry... Thursday

Today I’m longing for landscapes which I don’t even know
Perfumes of elsewhere can be dearly missed
When you know that they smell like the lover you kissed
Before time flew him away and let my life hollow.

How painful I find those pictures in my books
Where you seem to have drawn in the blue paradise
In the glow of the sea I’m searching for your looks
I listen to the wind seeking for some advice.

How ridiculous…

Can one miss the pictures in a book?

I just miss what you see so far away, because it makes me feel blind
I just miss what you hear without me, because it makes me feel deaf.

I miss things which I could as well hate.
All those things which have stolen you away,
Their beauty, which I dreadfully fear and childishly envy.
They surround you like I would; they caress you like I should.

I’m a prisoner of space, of time, I feel trapped by the immensity.
Somewhere on earth, I will meet you
Somewhere in time, I will find you.
Time keeps us apart, stronger than any wall.

But I will pull the thread of time and bring you back to me,
I’ll wrap the thread around my heart, and tie you up with me.
How brave can a kid be, looking for his dream on earth?
How stupid can he look, looking for his love in time?

I’ll just close my eyes and look down from the stars
I have a great view there, and their light makes you shine.
And the world keeps spinning, and we’re still worlds apart
How many more turns till I land in your arms?

Waiting for you on this waltzing planet,

I feel dizzy but still I see

Clearly your arms waiting for me.
